One of my favorite blogs, the thinking tank, just posted about the quarterly Kinfolk. The images she posted were beautiful, so I decided to check out their website. Every bit of it is simply lovely and charming.
Kinfolk's manifesto:
Kinfolk is a growing community of artists with a shared interest in small gatherings. We recognize that there is something about a table shared by friends, not just a wedding or once-a-year holiday extravaganza, that anchors our relationships and energizes us. We have come together to create Kinfolk as our collaborative way of advocating the natural approach to entertaining that we love. Every element of Kinfolk—the features, photography, and general aesthetics—are consistent with the way we feel entertaining should be: simple, uncomplicated, and less contrived. Kinfolk is the marriage of our appreciation for art and design and our love for spending time with family and friends.
Kinfolk's manifesto:
Each post from their journal is a treasure trove of dreamy photos. Of course the set "41 coffees" jumped out at me immediately, but the photos from the flickr set are copyrighted so you'll have to click for yourself to see them. The latest posts, "holiday mobile" and "welcoming the season," really makes me wish I were home for Christmas more than ever.

The end of the semester is quickly approaching, and with it is a whole slew of things for me to do: finish writing the final exams for my classes this week, continue GRE studying, buy plane tickets to go home, deal with my bank account issues, worrying in advance about teaching Spanish next semester, etc. etc. My apologies to anyone who's come to this blog looking for Twin Peaks screencaps or summaries or any related posts--they will be back soon! As for recapping the series, I know I've only done a few, but I've actually already gotten to the final few episodes in Season Two. It was just too hard to stop myself from continuing. For now I'll say that my goal is to finish recapping the entire series by April 8th, 2012 (the series' 22nd birthday). Auf Wiedersehen for now!
